創辦人蔡威德先生發現,坪林當地人想讓更多人看見他們的價值,

Founder, Mr.蔡威德, found out that the locals who live in Pinglin hope that more people can see their value.

於是投入旅遊產業,全心經營金瓜三號,成為稱職管家。

So he invested in the tourism industry, tried his best to be a great manager and to hold a B&B which is called the Pumpkin No.3.

「要先跟農家共好,才能夠生存。可以說是社區營造,但談不上幫助,而是一種合作。」蔡威德先生說。

First of all, we have to be nice and to be friendly with farmers, this is the best way to survive. Maybe you can see it as community development, but it is far from helping, it's more like a kind of cooperation. Mr.蔡威德 said.

不過社會企業難以經營,在發現現實狀況之後,反而比較想要走旅創的方向。

After finding out the truth of how difficult to run the social enterprise, they wanted to follow the way of travel startup more.

定期在金瓜三號舉辦活動,讓旅人化身為坪林人,直接與農家接觸。

They hold events regularly at the Pumpkin No.3, and they wanna make the travelers to live with locals and having directly connect with farmers.

體驗拔菜、採茶的農家生活;喝茶、學茶的農家學問,是旅遊也是生活也是家人。

To experience farmers regular life, and to learn the knowledge of tea. Making traveling as life and family.

慢慢地農家也會開始好奇這種合作方式。

Gradually, the farmers started being curious about the way of cooperation.

金瓜三號不會與所有農家合作,而是精選過5家,理念相近才能合作愉快,這樣才會有力量。

The Pumpkin No.3 doesn’t work with all farmers, they only chose five farmers who have more similar idea with them. They believe this is the way to be stronger. 

最快延伸坪林價值的方法,就是包裝。坪林生產茶葉,與茶農合作,將茶葉融入創意料理,製成零嘴茶香酥產品,經過包裝後行銷到各地。

The fastest mode to extend Pinglins value is package, tea is produced here. They tried to cooperate with farmers, and develop the fusion cuisine by tea. Like “茶香酥” one of the tea products.

The products are attractively packaged, and sold in everywhere.

要打造一個文創旅居不容易,在地產業、元素、創意都有了,但是缺乏資金以及成本控管,威德說之後會持續參與財務管理課程,補足金瓜三號不足的地方。

It is not easy to create a culture and creative hostel. They have local industries and creativities, but they are lack of fund and the skill of cost controlling. I plan to take a course in financial management, to make up the weakness.」威德 said.

未來目標客群為上班族,看中上班族強大的消費力,以及注重服務與活動的品質,會比較願意將錢留在坪林。

In the future, the office workers will be the target customer. Because they are high-spending, and focus on service quality. They will be more willing to spend money in Pinglin.

相對地也能讓坪林商家獲利。但是不想抽商家回扣,因為容易把活動焦點移開。

The store in Pinglin also have profit. 威德 doesnt take the commission from the store, because it may loss the value of activity.

這是一種互惠的概念,這樣服務起來也比較開心。

It’s a mutual relationship. It’s happy to offer service like this.

實際到坪林參與茶農體驗,晚餐共煮共食以後,才真實體會到威德與管家嫻嫻對這片土地的熱情。
